Hiring Underway – First Up: Front Desk and Snack Bar Managers Announced

WCSC is pleased to announce the Front Deck and Snack Bar Managers for the Summer 2017 Season. They will begin interviewing for attendant positions beginning the last week in February. All applications are due by March 1. Click here for more details and an application.

Front Desk Manager:
WCSC is happy to welcome back Candy Howerton as the pool’s Front Desk Manager. Candy has worked at the WCSC Front desk for six years now; two of those years as manager, and two as assistant manager. She has been a member of WCSC for more than 20 years! Many of you already know and love her as much as we do. Candy is always ready with a smile and happy greeting for our WCSC members!

For the past 16 years, Candy has served as a pre-school special education teacher at Marley Glen in Glen Burnie. A teacher for 27 years total, she also works as a tutor in her free time. Many also know her as Mikey’s mom and one of WCSC’s dedicated dive team volunteers, often serving as our dive meet announcer.

From Candy:

I am looking forward to another fun summer with the great members and staff at WCSC.  I am always available to lend a hand or answer a question any time, just look for me or ask for me at the front desk.  See you soon!”

Front Desk Assistant Manager:

Candy’s right-hand man will again by Sydney Champagne. Sydney is currently studying to be a radiology technician at Anne Arundel Community College. In addition to school, Sydney works as a veterinary technician at a veterinary hospital in Severn. This will be Sydney’s second year as Assistant Front Desk Manager. This summer, Sydney will also be serving as one of WCSC’s Assistant Dive Coaches. We’re very excited to have Sydney back in both of these valuable roles at WCSC!

From Sydney:

I’m so excited to start another season here at WCSC! If you need anything I am here to help and will answer any questions you may have, you can usually find me at the front desk or by the diving boards. I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!”

Snack Bar Manager:

WCSC is happy to announce Meg Geety as our new Snack Bar Manager this summer. Meg is currently studying nursing at Anne Arundel Community College while working at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.  She also volunteers at the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company. Working at the pool’s snack bar was actually Meg’s first job when she was 15!  She is looking forward to working with other young adults and bringing new and improved offerings to the pool’s snack bar this summer.

From Meg:

I’m excited to be here at WCSC! I can’t wait to show our members the changes we have planned for the snack bar to optimize every member and guest’s experience!”

Snack Bar Assistant Manager:

We are pleased to announce that Erin O’Toole will be serving as Meg’s partner in crime and Snack Bar Assistant Manager. Many of you may already know Erin, an Arundel High School senior, from working last year as a snack bar attendant. We’re excited for Erin’s new role and know she will bring a lot to our members this summer.

From Erin:

I’m excited for the new position at the WCSC pool! I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces!”
